Before joining the Office of Academic & Career Success at UW-Madison as a Communications Specialist, she earn her B.A. from Michigan State University’s College of Communication Arts & Sciences.

Throughout the early years of her career, she has intentionally sought roles that allow her to apply her skills in ways that make a meaningful impact, always with a focus on supporting causes she believes in. Early on, there was her commitment to Street Teams, a student organization at Michigan State, where she volunteered her time and skills to build websites and create digital and print promotional materials for local non-profits in the Lansing area. She’s continued this path through her work in career services at UW-Madison, supporting offices dedicated to increasing equity and access to successful careers, particularly in the fields of health and law, for students.

Her specialty is storytelling, though the medium is wide-ranging: photo, video, social media, web design, email marketing, writing, a doodle on the edge of her notebook, etc. When she’s not behind a camera, Rachel is a lover of breakfast foods, summers on the Great Lakes, sports, and live music.
