TOWER GUARD (2020)
Tower Guard is a sophomore organization dedicated to serve the Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities (RCPD) at Michigan State University. The volunteer organization collaborates with the RCPD to help scribe for exams, create more accessible textbooks, hold one-on-one tutoring, and build a more inclusive environment for all Spartans.
I had the honor of not only being a member of the 2019-2020 Tower Guard class, but also serving on the executive board as Historian. In this role, I was focused on capturing my class's achievements and experiences during our year with the organization, creating an end-of-the-year recap video and photographing events throughout the year.
THE BLIND LEADING THE BLIND (2019)
In collaboration with: Anna Forest
Aside from the recap video, The Blind Leading the Blind was another cool video I was able to contribute to during this year.
An opportunity arose in the middle of the year to work one-on-one with a student who is blind, Anna, and help her create a video project for one of her courses that semester. Anna came up with the idea for the project, all of the footage, and made all the creative decisions. I just got to be her eyes and cut the video together with her.
We met a couple of times and put in around 10 hours of work to complete the project, and this was what we came up with! Working with Anna was hands down my best volunteering experience I had in Tower Guard.
